Hetzner Unveils New Web Hosting Plans: Less Fluff, More Flexibility

German hosting provider Hetzner has shaken things up with four new web hosting plans — from size S to XL. The company promises more transparency, more flexibility, and fewer pricing illusions.

The big idea? You only pay for what you actually use. Domains, which used to be bundled in, are now sold separately — a small but liberating change. External domains can be added for just €0.64 per month, and there’s no need to tie add-on domains to a “main” one anymore. Simpler, cleaner, and a little more logical.

From Hobby Clubs to Heavy-Duty Systems

Hetzner says the new plans can handle anything — whether it’s a small local club website, a busy online store, or even a full-blown CRM or ERP system. The top-tier plan includes up to 300 GB of storage, 50 databases, and 20 cronjobs. FTP users, mailboxes, and data transfer? Unlimited, of course.

And for those who like to fine-tune performance, there’s serious tech under the hood: Varnish, Redis, and NodeJS support for faster, more flexible hosting environments.

Transparent Pricing, Honest Add-ons

One of Hetzner’s bolder moves was ditching the usual “upgrade to the next plan” trap. Now, users can simply add what they need: 10 GB of extra space or another database for €1 a month.

The smallest package, Webhosting S, offers 10 GB of storage, one database, two PHP processors, 192 GB of RAM, and unlimited email accounts — all for €1.60 ($2) per month.

Hetzner also emphasizes that all of its servers are physically located in Germany and fully comply with GDPR and EU data protection laws. In other words, your data stays both local and lawful.

Existing customers will soon be able to switch to the new rates — calmly, no rush. After all, the “flexibility revolution” doesn’t need to be a noisy one.
