Hosting provider RuVDS keeps expanding its digital geography: after Murmansk, the company has now entered the Armenian market. The new virtual server hub is up and running in the OVIO data center, located in the town of Abovyan, Kotayk Province — just 20 kilometers from Yerevan. This marks RuVDS’s eighth international location, and judging by the pace, the company doesn’t seem inclined to slow down.
Why Armenia
Choosing Armenia makes perfect sense. The country maintains close ties with Russia, creating natural demand from both Russian-rooted companies and local clients seeking reliable IT infrastructure. For some, this move brings them closer to the Armenian audience; for others, it’s a solid bridgehead for operations across the South Caucasus.
It’s fair to say that RuVDS picked Armenia with both heart and calculator — the market is growing, cloud adoption is accelerating, and competition hasn’t yet reached the overcrowded stage.

Data Center OVIO
Inside the Data Center
The OVIO facility is the largest and most advanced data center of its kind in Armenia. It boasts a total capacity of 2 MW, dual independent city power connections, and a Schneider Galaxy VL UPS system with N+1 redundancy. Two diesel generators stand ready for backup power, while modern cooling systems maintain optimal temperatures in the server rooms.
In short, if data centers ever competed for the title of “Most Reliable”, OVIO would easily make it to the finals.
Who It’s For
The new location will be particularly useful for businesses targeting users in the South Caucasus and the Middle East, as well as for companies looking to host part of their infrastructure outside Russia without compromising on performance or reliability.
RuVDS hasn’t just opened another server point — it’s added a new spot on the map where technology and common sense happen to speak the same language.
